At Hide House Lofts, we spent hours pouring over plans and putting ourselves in your shoes: How does this unit feel? How will this space live? We’ve thought through the details from kitchen cabinet design and furniture placement to the orientation of doors and windows for good views and natural ventilation. These units are designed for efficient, comfortable living. It’s cool design you can call home.

Hide House Tannery Complex

Originally a tannery (hence “Hide” House!), this group of historical buildings is evolving into a dynamic live/work community in the heart of Milwaukee’s Bay View Neighborhood. Conceived as an incubator for creative arts and businesses, Hide House is home to an array of small businesses, fitness studios, several creative agencies, photographers and retail businesses. If you have a passion for arts and music, you’ll love getting involved in our events, gallery nights and ArtBeat.

Sustainability

Since our first design meeting at a local cafe, the owners, designers and contractors behind Hide House Lofts have committed to sustainability as a core value. In the beginning, we worked with our demo crew to salvage over 90% of the materials from the old buildings including beams, flooring and brick (we ground up the other 10% for animal bedding!). We then worked with our architects and engineers to design a building with all the right details: reclaimed and recycled materials, low VOC paints, plenty of natural light… From there, we met with energy consultants to fine tune our energy systems before the building took final shape. Throughout the design and building process, we’ve continually found ways to make Hide House Lofts a better, more sustainable developments.

We’ve applied to become Green Built Home Certified, a rigorous third-party green building certification program sponsored by the Wisconsin Environmental Initiative. Ask to see a complete list of features and our final score.

WE LOVE PETS!

At Hide House Lofts, you can keep up to two (2) pets in your apartment… and we won’t even count the fish! But as it goes, we want to avoid any issues with pets and most importantly, we want everyone at HH Lofts to enjoy their home.

  • Two pet max per apartment

  • One dog only, up to 35 pound maximum

  • Breed Restrictions Apply

  • All pets must be on a leash at all times

  • Strict noise policy enforced

  • Dog walk area enforced. Clean up kiosk provided.
